Congratulations Year 9 Students Raising Funds for Syria

Congratulations to three of our Year 9 students who came up with the idea and then organised a Bake Sale to raise funds for the charity, Hand in Hand for Syria.  The Bake Sale took place in February 2017 and the girls raised an impressive £92.43 in one lunch-time selling cakes that they had baked themselves.

Hand in Hand for Syria is a UK registered charity that was set up soon after the start of the conflict in Syria in 2011. Established by a group of British Syrians, the charity has grown to become a leading humanitarian force inside the country.  They provide life-saving humanitarian aid as well as work on establishing long-term projects to help rebuild the country.

The students involved, Ebony Pumfrett, Suhana Jalal and Hannah Corcoran, were awarded certificates from the school for their efforts which were presented by Mrs Wellham, Health Care Teacher and Young Carer Lead and Mrs Shaw, Assistant Head of Year 9 during the cheque presentation today.

Well done, girls!
